Dogs will only be accepted for grooming after the Owner (or other responsible person) has filled in and signed a client form, all clients will be deemed to have accepted Grooming On The Green’s terms (as laid out here)
Cancellation Policy ‘No Shows’ Grooming On The Green operates on a low volume client basis and as such on booking of appointments, other customers will be turned away under the assumption that you are coming. Unless 24 hours’ notice is given for cancellation of appointment, a 25% cancellation fee will be charged, payable on next appointment.
Normal Condition It is assumed that you will bring your dog into the salon in Normal Condition. That is; that you groom your dog at home (right down to the skin) regularly between appointments, and that you will present your dog at the salon in an unmatted and dry state. Any condition other than “Normal” will take longer to deal with and will therefore incur additional charges. If you are unsure which tools and/or products to use to groom your dog with between appointments please ask and I can advise you.
De-Matting & Excessive Grooming If a dog is overly matted due to missed/failed/cancelled appointments, I reserve the right to clip out any mattes and charge an additional de-matting fee. De-matting can be time consuming and stressful and may not be suitable for a dogs of a nervous/highly strung disposition where it may be kinder to your pet to clip them off and start again. All clip-offs and different styles due to this will be checked with, and consent given by, the owner before work is carried out. If a dog requires more than 3 hours work due to excessive matting, I reserve the right to stop the grooming and request the dog comes on a return visit, at an additional charge to the owner.
The owner agrees that Grooming On The Green will not be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems “uncovered” by clipping off a badly matted, neglected coat. This could include, but is not limited to the following: itchiness, skin redness, irritations or abrasions however caused, post groom furunculosis, pyoderma – superficial or deep and/or pyotraumatic dermatitis.
Repeated de-matting will not be carried out as this is unkind to your pet and demoralising to the groomer, who is understandably often subjected to anxious and aggressive behaviour from what would otherwise be a happy dog. In such instances, home grooming and regular appointments must be obtained to remain a customer of Grooming On The Green.
Old Age Dog’s, (OAD’s) Any dog over the age of 10 will only have work done which they will tolerate. For example: If an OAD doesn’t want his nails clipped, they will not be done (unless absolutely necessary). This only causes undue stress to the dog, that he/she doesn’t need at that time of life.
Veterinary Treatment It must be clearly understood and agreed that whilst every care and attention is given to your dogs they are accepted at the owner’s risk. Our first concern is for the welfare of your dog so in the event of injury or illness a vet may be sought and unless it can be clearly shown that we are liable, all cost in the connection and carrying out of this instruction shall be at the owners expense.
Behavioural Issues Any behavioural problems with client dogs must be alerted at the time of booking. Failure to do so may result in additional charges or cancellation of any future contract.
Muzzles Any dog deemed unsafe to work without a muzzle will be muzzled unless specifically requested otherwise by the owner or if the dog will not tolerate one. If this is the case, all work will be attempted but may not be completed.
Dog Alone In an emergency, if I am not able to call on a neighbour, I may have to leave your dog unattended. In which case I would leave your dog in a cage in a locked salon, with radio as company. This would be for 30 minutes maximum until I return or alternative cover is able to arrive. In either case, you will be informed and asked to pick up your dog if I am unable to return.
